Japanese armor exhibited at the Malta Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as Western armor from the Republic of Malta, will be exhibited at the Ri-no-ichi-Watari Tower in Himeji Castle.
Japanese armor and Western armor from the Knights of Malta, which were exhibited at the Republic of Malta Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, will be exhibited at Himeji Castle’s “Ri no Ichi Watari Yagura.” The armor will be exhibited at Himeji Castle because one of the pieces is said to have belonged to the Sakai family, who have deep ties to Himeji, and because the Expo’s legacy, such as its awareness of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is connected to the traditional techniques that have been passed down at Himeji Castle since the beginning of the 17th century.
