Himeji Castle will hold a special autumn and winter opening. Six structures normally closed to the public will be open: the Junior Keep and the Iroha Bridge Tower.

Japanese armor exhibited at the Malta Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, as well as Western armor from the Republic of Malta, will be exhibited at the Ri-no-ichi-Watari Tower in Himeji Castle.
